In WP 6 all results on Emerging Technologies, including the results of the 2nd Consultation Campaign, will be considered when developing recommendations for an Emerging Security Technology Research Agenda (ESTRA). Lessons learned from the analysis of Critical Dependencies (WP 2) are included in the recommendations. Measures will be taken to ensure that ESTRA is compatible with existing national and European research strategies.
Ethical aspects will also be taken into account (scheme 10).
Additionally, further economic modelling will be used to cover the high risk/high pay-off aspect: The Chair of Finance and Banking, Universityof Duisburgand Essen, will develop and provide special instruments to analyse and valuate selected emerging technologies from an economic point of view. Analysis and valuation will be based on adaptations of economic methods to the specific problems.
